Skyon R&D
Modular Research UAV – Precision in Flight
Skyon R&D is a modular fixed-wing aircraft for research, inspection, and mapping – engineered for maximum efficiency, precision, and endurance. With a payload of up to 2 kg, a 150-minute flight time, a robust EPP/CFRP structure, and state-of-the-art avionics, it offers a flexible platform for demanding applications in science, industry, and technology.

The Skyon R&D was designed as a universal research platform for professional use. Its modular structure combines a lightweight, crash-resistant EPP airframe with carbon fiber-reinforced wings and a high-strength fuselage. The system enables an exceptional balance of flight performance, precision, and ease of use.
The central focus is on versatility: Thanks to tool-free module connections, sensors, cameras, or communication systems can be swapped out in minutes. The spacious interior offers space for complex payloads – from EO/IR gimbals and multispectral cameras to scientific measurement systems and edge computing modules.
The integrated autopilot architecture based on modern Pixhawk controllers and ArduPilot ensures precise mission guidance, telemetry, and automatic landing functions. RTK GNSS for centimeter-accurate positioning, LTE communication for BVLOS missions, and a ROS 2-compatible companion platform (e.g., Jetson Orin Nano) are available as options.
With a maximum takeoff weight of 5 kg, hand or catapult launch, robust glide landing, and a modular quick-detach design, the Skyon R&D is suitable for mobile use in research, surveying, inspection, or test environments. Its highly efficient aerodynamics and powerful power supply ensure flight times of up to 150 minutes – while remaining easy to maintain and transport.
Skyon R&D – designed for precision, efficiency and flexibility in every mission.
